Happy April Fool's Day everyone!
I hope my readers have had a fun and enjoyable Easter yesterday with eating lots of chocolate and some going to church for Jesus' return, also not forgetting the clocks in the UK have gone an hour forward. So those that have work tomorrow, don't forget to set your alarms and clocks properly.
Speaking of the clocks going forward on the last Sunday of March and going back by an hour on the last Sunday of October, it has made me question whether it was necessary at all. Since I was a little girl (haha this may give away my age), I have always wondered about the hours I remember once when I was around 12 I was thinking of we are due to put our clocks backwards by an hour every year does this mean we are 12 hours behind the "normal" time.
Until I got older I come to realize that when the clocks go forward by an hour it means we are in the British Summer Time (BST) time which means evenings will have more "daylight" and mornings will have less and vice-versa for Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) in the winter.
I do question sometimes about these change to the clocks, at the end of the day those that suffers are mostly the farmers as it means certain times of the year they will milk cows in the dark or even check the crops without proper light. It not only affects their working environment but also lead to those that have insomnia or even those with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). I myself have symptoms of SAD as I will have difficulty in waking up in the morning and tendency to oversleep which cause me to have issues in concentrating and I end up seeing my friends less because of such disorder. Which is why I bought myself a SAD alarm, as I set my alarm for 7:30am (for my 9am lectures) in the winter, my alarm will start lighting itself up at 7am slowly until it get to 7:30am where relaxing music will play and it will be bright so I wake up. My parent's don't believe in such disorder that I suffer but these do happen. Maybe this is due to cultural or possible generation gap issues... hmm. But yes, these clock changes have affected me slightly but nonetheless I am eager to beat this for when I enter into the work of work upon graduation. I hope I am able to get a job after, I am ok with 9am-5pm jobs but I just prefer 10am-6pm jobs because morning rush hour is a pain. I prefer the evening rush hours.
I seem to have drift away from my April fool's topic, there isn't much to be honest but hope everyone had fun this bank holiday =) wrap up warm!
